One of Fairlake's main partnerships is with the Newport Housing Trust, where we are Development Agents on the largest social housing regeneration scheme in Wales.
Fairlake has responsibility for organising the replacement of 500 prefabricated bungalows occupied by elderly and disabled people. The total value of the project is £45m. The average age of the residents is 75 years and our role includes negotiating with the 160 owner occupiers included in the redevelopment. Ongoing resident consultation has been vital and this has been achieved through home visits, regular newsletters, public meetings and establishing Resident Groups.
The project is now in its 5th year of construction and reached the significant landmark of completing its 400th bungalow in September 2005.
