Newport Care & Repair can help older and disabled people to carry out repairs or adaptations by:
- Providing technical advice about the nature of the work and the likely costs
- Advising about the availability of funding to carry out work such as grants, loans, insurance claims, charitable funding etc.
- Assisting with the completion of application forms
- Helping to select reliable contractors
- Helping with the administration of building work and assisting with any issues that may occur whilst on site
- Ensuring that work is carried out to a satisfactory standard before payment is made
- Providing emotional support to vulnerable people as they prepare for the inevitable disruption that building work will involve
- Liaising with other organisations such as Social Services, the DSS, housing department, grants department and legal department of the local authority, on a client's behalf.
- We can help a client to move out of their home if necessary, if any works are likely to be disruptive.
- We will always aim to give the client a choice at all stages.
